Question
Are there any adults who like the Harry Potter series?
Answer
Of course. brbrI have been observing lately that there seems to be something of a HP backlash amongst kids probably because it is such a phenom, and older kids and grownups are soooooo enthusiastic about the books in a way that would make any selfrespecting th grader roll their eyes and walk away. Its too bad, but I also think that some adults wellmeaning parents, relatives and teachers push those books on kids before they are ready to read them. None of the books past the first are really for younger readers at all, the writing is too complex and the subject material too grownup death, violence, romance, etc. brbrI and at least of my adults friends love Harry Potter. But the really special group of people who love the books are the young adults who grew up with Harry Potter. The readers I know in the yr old set those for whom the first book came out when they were exactly the right age the books represent their childhood and they have grown right along with them. I love HP, but the first book came out when I was I admit to being a little jealous of those who had this kind of growing experience, as none of the series books in the s were ever like this both in terms of quality, and in terms of socialization being able to bond with large groups of your peers over a book is something that I never really experienced in this way.
